Welcome to Abingdon Deanery
Located south of Oxford and part of the
Diocese of Oxford, it is one of 11 deaneries
within the Archdeaconry of Dorchester
Announcement Relating to Coronavirus
With immediate effect all public acts of worship in the Church of England have been cancelled. This also means that for the time being Deanery Synod meetings and events in and around the Deanery in the next few weeks have been cancelled, until we receive more updates on Coronavirus guidelines.

Although we cannot worship collectively we can still pray for one another. You may wish to join us in this prayer (courtesy of the Diocese of Wells & Bath):
we pray for all those who are suffering because of the coronavirus, may they know your healing power.
When we are afraid for ourselves and our loved ones, give us your strength and courage.
When we feel alone and isolated, reassure us with a sense of your presence.
Give wisdom to those in authority and may our community work together for the good of all.
We give thanks for those who care for others and ask you to bless them in all they do.
We ask this in the name of Jesus, healer and physician.
Abingdon Deanery Prayer
Heavenly Father, we thank you for calling us to belong to your people and especially to the churches of the Abingdon Deanery.
We thank you for each and every one of the congregations in our deanery and pray that you will renew us by your Spirit, inspire us with your love and send us out into the local communities to serve in the name of your Son, our Saviour Jesus Christ. Amen
May the God who gives endurance and encouragement give you a spirit of unity among yourselves as you follow
Christ Jesus (Romans 15:5)
Date of Next Meeting - cancelled
Due to the restrictions related to the Coronavirus outbreak, meetings scheduled for April/May have been put on hold until we receive further updates from the authorities.
